Veneers and implants

We offer a referral service for these specialist areas of dentistry that can help to create an aesthetically pleasing smile and - in the case of implants - improve functioning by replacing missing teeth.

Dental veneers are wafer-thin layers of tooth-coloured porcelain, ceramic or composite bonding material that are cemented to the front surface of a tooth.

They can be used to improve the appearance of teeth that are damaged or badly stained, and can help to close gaps or spaces between teeth to give a more even-looking smile.

With care, porcelain veneers can last up to 10 years, but will eventually need to be replaced. After they are fitted it is important to maintain good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for regular check-ups.

Dental implants can offer a long-term solution to the problem of missing teeth - although they are not suitable for everyone, and it is important to have a careful dental assessment before deciding to go ahead.

Having an implant fitted is a specialist procedure that involves fixing a titanium peg directly into a socket drilled into the jaw bone, where it acts as a base for a restorative crown, or can be used to anchor a bridge or denture firmly in place.
